– US grown Magnum is a Bittering Variety of Hop, bred by Germany’s Hop Research Institute in Hull, known as Hallertauer Magnum after her release in 1982. Although sharing almost the exact same qualities as Hallertauer Magnum, Magnum (US) tends to trade Herbal-Spice for a more Citrus, Pine and Peach-like Aroma. Offering a clean Bitter Finish, with almost no Aroma, Magnum is commonly used in Stouts, Ales, Lagers and ESB’s. Commercially grown across the United States.
