– Simcoe (YCR 14) is a Dual Purpose Variety of Hop, developed by the Yakima Chief Ranches, HopUnion LCC and released in 2000. The Co-Humulone Composition in Simcoe is extremely low, making Simcoe ideal for Foundational Bittering. Simcoe displays Floral-Citrus, Pine Needles, Lemon, Mandarin, Peach, and even hints of and Mango in the Aroma. Being such a versatile Dual Purpose Variety, Simcoe is well suited for Single Hop IPA’s and Hoppy Pale Ales. Moderately Bitter, with Resinous Pine-Needles, Peach and Mango on the Palate, with a Clean, Citrus-Zest and Tropical Salad-like Aroma. Released in 2000 by the Yakima Chief Ranch in Washington State, United States of America.
