– Citra (YCR 394) is a special Aroma Variety Hop, developed by the Hop Breeding Company (a joint venture between John I. Haas, Inc. and Select Botanicals Group, LLC) and Released in 2007. Moderate Bitterness, with Lemon, Orange, Grapefruit, Peach and Pine-Needles on the Palate. Although, more commonly known for her Aroma of striking Citrus, Pine, Lychee and Tropical Fruits. Citra’ includes parentage of Hallertauer, American Grown Tettnanger, and East Kent Goldings, it is this combination which likely explains the Intense Citrus, Grapefruit and Lemon filled Aroma. Citra is an Aroma Variety with moderately high Alpha Acids to low Beta Acids. Citra has become a Brewers favourite and is often referred to as a “Hype Hop” due to her recent increase in use throughout the Craft Brewing Community. Developed in Washington State, and first Released in the United States in 2007. Grown Internationally, including Australia, New Zealand, England and Canada.
