– Riwaka’ is an Aroma Variety of Hop, Developed by New Zealand’s HortResearch Center in Riwaka. Developed through crossing Saazer with specially developed New Zealand Breeding Selections, and Released in 1997. Riwaka displays distinct Citrus, Grapefruit, and Passionfruit in the Aroma, with Herbal-Spice, Lemon Grass, and Mineral on the Palate. Riwaka also stands out with a higher than average Oils, and a high Mycene Oil Composition, almost double that of Saazer. Commonly used in Pilsners, Pale Ales, and recently India Pale Ales, Riwaka displays a Pleasantly Unique Aroma and Flavor, making her a recent Favorite in the Craft Brewing Industry. Developed and Released by the HortResearch Hop Research Center, in Riwaka, New Zealand.
